If you are coming from the south, you cannot help but pass through this area of Canavese: a “hybrid” area that encompasses everything north of the great river, the Po, and north of the big city, Turin! It stretches to the foothills of the first mountainous and hilly reliefs.
The plain, only partially occupied by industries, is predominantly cultivated with cereals or as grassland, crisscrossed by watercourses from which essential irrigation channels branch off, also important for the natural habitat; but it is a “false-plain” because, here and there, it only takes a few kilometers to find oneself on what we call “vaude”, areas raised compared to the rest of the landscape, made up of plains, small valleys, small canyons, ponds, and lakes.
It is no surprise that the major urban centers of Canavese are located here, those with a greater commercial and industrial vocation, those served by highway directions and railway lines. Just as it is no surprise that here is the international airport serving the city of Turin and, practically, the entire northwest of Italy.
Centers, however, also rich in history, traditions, and picturesque corners to discover.
So, here is another face of CANAVESE VILLAGE.
