travelers of all ages

Dreamy itineraries for everyone!

We can translate it into “Open Air and Well-Being”: it took the pandemic to make us appreciate how important it is to be able to go out for a walk, a bike ride, a hike, albeit a simple one, on easy trails in the woods or along the shores of a lake, and how much this generates well-being, in the sense of being well, not only in the physical but, above all, in the mind. Until recently, the concept of the outdoors was always declined in terms of sporting activity, more or less amateurish.

Well, in Canavese, it is easy to “feel good”: we feel good there, living and working there, let alone those who have the opportunity to enjoy it for a vacation, a weekend, a trip out of town!

There are so many itineraries and activities that we can suggest to you, that’s why it’s natural for us to consider Canavese as a “big natural playground”: no need for infrastructure, nature has already taken care of those!

Let’s start with lovers of walking activities: walks, easy hikes, and challenging treks through ever-changing landscapes. Without fear of overdoing it, these are things you can do anywhere in Canavese.

The Canavese “playground” offers activities, both amateur and competitive.

A unique area

Oars, Paddles and Paragliders

The calm waters of Lake Candia allow canoeing, rowing and SUP (Stand Up Paddle), on the artificial lake of Ceresole Reale you can windsurf, with the knowledge that you are in the highest location in Italy for this discipline.

On the waterways, canyoning and soft-rafting are practiced, as well as, on the Dora Baltea in Ivrea, right in the center of the city, a unique case in the world, it is now a daily activity to canoe slalom, in a Canoe Stadium that has been hosting world cup competitions or international championships since 2017.

For the many who, on the other hand, like to have their heads in the clouds, we recommend free hang gliding or paragliding, with takeoff points from Santa Elisabetta, Rocca Canavese, Mount Cavallaria, Andrate or, with a few more thrills, the “rainbow flight,” the zip-line that in Frassinetto allows 1800 meters of free flight in 70 seconds at 400 meters above the ground over a breathtaking panorama.

one step after another

Between Parks, Meadows and Lakes

Do you think it is enough already?

What then of legendary bike climbs such as the Nivolet? Or the climbing crags of Montestrutto, Orco Valley and Valchiusella? What about the 9-hole golf courses of Favria and Torre Canavese, and snowshoeing and Nordic skiing in the snows of Gran Paradiso Park?

But after all this physical activity, these bike rides, these hikes, these climbs, know that in Canavese you can also go “wild-swimming,” that is, simply “wild” bathing in mountain puddles, lakes, and streams: moments of pure relaxation in captivatingly fascinating places such as Lake Sirio, the Fondo waterfall, and the Guje of Garavot.

Imagining all this, aren’t you already better off? Think about doing it!
