DISCOVERING THE 5 LAKES AREA – TREKKING

DESCRIZIONE ESPERIENZA
With this proposal, we are going to discover a nature area full of trails to explore, with numerous points of historical interest and beautiful views.
The Municipality of Montalto Dora, is set in a remarkable natural context, the area known as the Ivrea Morainic Amphitheater, a natural amphitheater, created and shaped by the Baltese glacier millions of years ago. The work of the ice transformed the whole area as we see it today, rich in hills and hollows that can be walked on all year round and with historical, naturalistic and geological peculiarities of the highest order.
This includes that area known as the “5 Lakes Area”: Lake Pistono, Lake Nero, Lake Sirio, Lake San Michele, and Lake Campagna. The route proposed here does not have its own “tracking” but is in the middle of several hiking and biking trails that intertwine with each other at different points, thus giving the possibility to lengthen or shorten the route according to desire, weather conditions and level of fatigue.
