Discovering ancient castles, mule tracks and forgotten villages that have made the history of this area.

With this itinerary we go along ancient mule tracks that wind through historic mansions and ancient places of worship, still shrouded in mystery. The area is located on the orographic left of the Dora Baltea River, on south-facing slopes, so it is suitable for days that are not too hot, such as spring and autumn. The hike aims to lead walkers to discover almost forgotten castles and ruins of ancient manors that have marked the history of this area.

You begin walking in the shadow of Montestrutto Castle, walking along a section of the Via Francigena that connects Carema to Ivrea, and then, having reached Settimo Vittone Castle and the ancient and fascinating Baptistery of San Lorenzo, you continue through numerous hamlets until you reach the hamlet of Cornaley. You reach the hamlet of Panvoglio, where the descent begins in the presence of Castruzzone Castle, then reaching Cesnola Castle, also known as Castelletto.
