DESCRIZIONE ESPERIENZA
DAY 1.
Rivarolo, Agliè, San Giorgio, Caluso
Meeting with chaperones in Rivarolo Canavese
10 a.m. Tour of Malgrà Castle
The castle was built between 1333 and 1336 by feudal lord Count Martino di San Martino. It remained in the hands of the counts of San Martino until the mid-17th century and was then subject to various changes of ownership. Expanded several times in the centuries following its construction, in 1982 it was acquired by the municipality, which used it as a venue for exhibitions, concerts and cultural events. After the visit, lunch at the vinosteria-restaurant near the castle where guests can eat typical dishes of our tradition combined with a wine tasting.
2:30-3 p.m. Transfer to Agliè and visit the Ducal Castle, which, with its seven-century-long history, has seen the passage of dukes, princes and kings.
3:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. (approx. 1h30 visit)
The Castle of Agliè, formerly owned by the Marquises San Martino and later by the Savoy family, is surrounded by a park with centuries-old trees and large greenhouses, and has more than 300 rooms with a precious and heterogeneous heritage of furnishings and collections, ranging from paintings to archaeological finds to amazing ornithological and oriental collections. The frescoed Ballroom and the succession of perfectly preserved period rooms make the castle a triumph of elegance and splendor. Possibility to visit the main floor and the park.
4:30 p.m. – 4:40 p.m. approx.: bus transfer to San Giorgio Canavese for a visit and tasting at the Orsolani winery.
4:40 p.m. – guided tour of the Orsolani winery, famous for the production of Erbaluce. Four generations have succeeded each other in the Orsolani Family, which boasts a history of more than 120 years. Their wines are characterized by tradition and personality and encapsulate the essence of Canavese. A tasting is scheduled after the visit.
6:30 p.m.-6:40 p.m. transfer to the Erbaluce Hotel in Caluso.
Dinner at Sardi’s Restaurant where guests will enjoy typical and traditional cuisine paired with Canavese wines presented by the producers.
DAY 2.
Damanhur, St. George
9 a.m. after breakfast meeting with chaperones
9 a.m.-9:20 a.m. departure from Agliè and transfer to Baldissero Canavese.
9:30 a.m. Arrive at the Damanhur Federation Visitor Center.
In the morning you will visit Damjl, the central area of Damanhur, where you will discover the history and philosophy of the Federation, represented through art, stone labyrinths, altars and more. Afterwards visit the Temples of Humanity dedicated to the divine nature of humankind: a three-dimensional book that tells the story of Humanity through multiple planes of existence. Particularly impressive is the Underground Temple, considered a true work of art, full of artistically and spiritually decorated rooms.
12.30 p.m. after the visit transfer to Castellamonte and lunch at the Three Kings Restaurant – three-course menu, drinks included ½ water, ¼ wine, coffee.
15.00 – 3:20 p.m. after lunch transfer to San Giorgio and visit Fonte Cuore estate.
3:30 p.m. Visit Fonte Cuore – dates back to the Middle Ages this beautifully preserved farmhouse – beautiful planetary sundial on the facade -, which has been home to the Fonte cuore estate for a decade. It includes vineyards and winery, educational farm and biodiversity park. Truly a beautiful project that was realized by the couple Maria Luisa Monticelli and Stefano Desideri, both of whom came from other fields but were won over by the beauty of this area.
Their wines reflect their passion … starting, of course, with those based on erbaluce: Erbaluce di Caluso DOCG Spumante Pas Dosé, fragrant and intense (they also make an Extra Brut blended from various white grape varieties and a Rosato Extra Brut from red grapes), two still versions, the base and the Etichetta Oro, from selected grapes, and ending with a Passito all softness and harmony. The red wines are also very interesting: Canavese Rosso, Principe, from merlot grapes, and Nebbiolo. After the visit, wine tasting paired with dishes cooked and narrated by Chef Roberto Marchello, owner of the Tre Re restaurant in Castellamonte.
7 pm – 7:20 pm approx. : transfer from the Estate to Rivarolo Canavese and end of the tour.
